BPE Solicitors advises Dodo Pubs Co on a 20 year Lease of The Cross Hands, Bristol
The team at BPE, led by partner Doug Armstrong, have assisted Dodo Pubs Co with the acquisition of it’s newest location – The Cross Hands in Bristol. Dodo Pub Co now has seven neighbourhood pubs in its growing portfolio (including The Bottle of Sauce in Cheltenham and The Rusty Bicycle in Oxford), each offering a traditional yet quirky welcoming style. The All Inn, as the pub will be renamed, will reopen on Staple Hill Road in Fishponds, in May 2023, and is the latest pub to be rescued from closure by co-founders Leo Johnson and Chris Manners.
Alongside the negotiation of the Lease to secure the site, BPE’s employment team were also asked to consider and advise on the Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Regulations 2006.
Commenting on the latest transaction for Dodo Doug said “It is always a pleasure acting for Chris and Leo and Bristol is a great spot for their latest acquisiton, I look forward to visiting soon.”
Leo Johnson said “We've been wanting to find the right place for a Dodo pub in Bristol for several years now. Two of us lived there for a while and we all love its vibrancy and the feeling of inclusion that seems to permeate the city. It's got a great mix of pubs, bars and restaurants, and we firmly believe that our neighbourhood vibe will fit right in."
