The BPE Private Wealth team continues to grow
With three partners now at the helm, the BPE Private Wealth team has grown in recent months with the addition of Jess Beddows as Partner and Joint Head of Private Wealth.
Jess, who qualified as a solicitor in 2009, advises individuals on a range of matters. She specialises in Wills and estate planning, creation and administration of trusts, Powers of Attorney, complex Court of Protection matters and has particular experience advising vulnerable clients and families of children with learning and/or physical disabilities. Jess holds the STEP Advanced Certificate in Advising Vulnerable Clients. She is also a member of Solicitors for the Elderly, an associate member of the Society of Trust and Estates Practitioners and a Dementia Friend.
With Jess joining Pete Tyrrell and Malcolm Emery as Partner, the team and the advice they provide is very much partner led with a vast level of experience in complex, high value matters including some complex tax elements.
Pete has been at BPE for nearly eleven years, qualified for twelve and is Joint Head of Private Wealth. He advises individuals with complex financial affairs in respect of their estate planning and works closely with the Corporate team at BPE, supporting business owners to ensure that their personal and business affairs are aligned.
Malcolm joined BPE in 2019 and is a dual qualified Chartered Tax Advisor and Solicitor. He specialises in advising individuals with significant assets and private trustees on a range of legal and tax issues including exit and succession planning, tax mitigation and issues surrounding residence and domicile.
The eight strong team is completed by Senior Associate, Natalie Cottrell, Associates Tom Bird and John Pengilley, Assistant Solicitor Shanade Smith and Paralegal Hannah Livingstone.
Natalie advises a range of clients on their personal affairs including business owners, land owners and high net worth individuals. She has a particular experience and interest in supporting elderly clients in issues such as mental health as well as advising on complex property and trust arrangements.
Tom and John both joined BPE in 2020 and have quickly become integral members of the Private Wealth team. Tom advises individuals in relation to protecting their assets and deals with complex probates and estate administration. He is STEP qualified and is also an accredited member of Solicitors for the Elderly. John advises on a range of private wealth matters including Wills, Powers of Attorney and the creation and administration of trusts. Completing the team is Solicitor Shanade Smith who trained at BPE, qualifying in 2019. She advises clients in relation to Wills and Powers of Attorney as well as working alongside the Partners on more complex matters.
The team is supported by paralegal Hannah Livingstone who recently completed her apprenticeship at BPE, as well as three PAs, Carol King, Kate Davies and Ruby Jaremko.
