The third of our 12 Faces of Christmas
To celebrate Christmas this year we've asked some of our people to share what they love about the festive season. Today, Iain Garfield gives us his answers.
Describe your job in five words
Regularly challenging, but usually rewarding.
If you weren’t a lawyer, what would you be?
I’d love to say a forensic pathologist, but biology wasn’t my strong point … more realistically, an actuary.
Where/what is your favourite place in Gloucestershire?
My home, without a doubt. But in second place, anywhere in the Forest of Dean for a long walk on a crisp, dry, autumn morning.
Which best describes you at Christmas? ‘Enough with the Christmas songs!’ or ‘Show me the mince pies!’
Depends on the date – I morph from the Grinch into Santa’s soulmate at 5pm on the last working day before Christmas
What’s your favourite Christmas ad?
John Lewis’ 2015 advert, the ‘Man on the Moon’, just because I witnessed my teenage daughter well up with tears the first time she saw it. We had to stop her from trying to adopt an old man as a result.
