BPE grows its specialist support for families

The largest ever Family team at BPE Solicitors is helping a rising number of private clients in need of their specialist legal expertise.

Led by Partner Helen Cankett, the five-strong team has been bolstered by the appointment of Senior Associate Rebecca Pike and the recent qualification of Hannah Mills. They will be working alongside established team member Senior Associate Jemma Jones, as well as a trainee solicitor.

Having joined the Top 200 law firm in 2013 when the Family team was just two years old, Helen came to the helm in 2016 and has helped oversee steady growth so that the team is now a well established and thriving part of the business. From helping to negotiate financial settlements to agreeing arrangements for children as well as pre and post-nuptial agreements, the team works closely with clients to achieve the best outcome for all parties.

“We’ve seen an increase in work which has allowed us to recruit and strengthen the team, making sure our skillset is balanced and best placed to help our clients,” comments Helen. “Jemma and Rebecca bring great expertise in advising on arrangements for children. My experience in financial matters often includes looking at ways of restructuring businesses to prevent a sale in the event of a marriage breakdown. By working closely with our colleagues in the Corporate and Commercial teams, we can call on the experience of other team members to offer the very best advice to clients from a business and personal perspective.”
