BPE Solicitors’ Corporate team advises timber trade business on share sale
The corporate team at Cheltenham based law firm BPE Solicitors has recently advised the owners of Premier Timber & Builders Merchants Ltd on a share sale of their business.
The Worcester based, independently owned company was established in 2000 and supplies quality timber and allied products to the repairs, maintenance and improvements markets through local trade and larger retail customers.
Adam Kean, Associate Solicitor at BPE, was a key advisor on the deal which saw Premier Timber purchased by Bristol company Kellaway Building Supplies Limited. He commented: “It has been a pleasure to work with the team at Premier on this transaction. At BPE, we see businesses through every stage of their development including that of their sale, and this marks a very successful conclusion for the sellers”.
Managing Director of Premier Timber, Paul Ford, said: “We’re all very pleased with the outcome of this sale. Selling to the Kellaway Group was a great step for our business, and we’re grateful for the support of Adam and the team at BPE throughout the process.
“Premier Timber will be part of a larger business that operates on a much wider scale, opening up a new range of opportunities, as well as allowing Kellaway to extend its reach into the Worcester area. This move will give the staff future security and opportunities for career development”.
Accounting and tax advice for the transaction was provided by Graham Rew and Paul Fussell of Hazlewoods Accountants.
Following the sale, Premier Timber will relocate from its current site to larger premises on the same Worcester trading estate, providing space for an increased range of stock and improved facilities for continued operations in the area.
