BPE Solicitors' Corporate Team Acts for Arc Energy Resources in Acquisition of CLG Engineering
The corporate team at Gloucestershire legal firm, BPE Solicitors, has acted for welding engineering specialists, Arc Energy Resources, on its recent acquisition of CLG Engineering.
Arc Energy Resources, based in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, specialises in the supply of corrosion resistant weld overlay cladding and the manufacture of specialist fabrications for numerous clients in sectors such as oil and gas, nuclear and renewable industries.
Led by Corporate Partner, Tim Ward, the acquisition supplements Arc Energy Resources’ 80-strong team with 14 employees from CLG Engineering, creating a stronger workforce with a broad mix of skills.
Commenting on behalf of both companies, Andrew Robinson, Group Managing Director, commented: “This is a fantastic opportunity for both companies. CLG Engineering’s precision machining capability perfectly complements Arc Energy Resources’ cladding and fabrication offering. The group enables us to offer a one-stop-shop for all clients’ engineering requirements.”
Also based in Stonehouse, CLG Engineering provides CNC milling and turning services to a variety of industries, including the oil and gas, rail and automotive sectors. Founded in 1979, the company exports products and special components across the UK and further afield to more than 10 separate countries.
Tim Ward said: “We were delighted to represent Arc Energy Resources at such an important time. With our head office in Cheltenham, we opened an office in Stonehouse just two years ago, so this is a great opportunity to work with two successful Stroud businesses, providing them with legal services at a very exciting time. We wish them every success.”
This acquisition follows a record year of trading for Arc Energy Resources, which increased its turnover in 2015 by 14% to £6.5 million and invested heavily in new equipment and facilities.
