BPE Solicitors celebrates Cotswolds creativity at Painswick art festival
The picturesque town of Painswick was transformed on Sunday 17 July as The ACP Art Festival 2016, sponsored by BPE Solicitors, showcased the very best of Cotswolds creativity.
Now in its seventh year, the popular event from local charity, Art Couture Painswick, saw designers of all ages showcase their inventive works of wearable art in front of a panel of judges. With this year’s chosen themes including ‘moving parts’, ‘underwater’ and ‘flight’, BPE Partner and Head of Commercial Property, Antonia Shield, gave the awards for 2nd and 3rd place in the body art competition, which welcomed a host of local creative talent.
The Cheltenham based law firm hosted a competition of their own, giving festival-goers the opportunity to exhibit their creativity in ‘hat factory’ craft corner. Meanwhile, street artist Stuart McLain and his team from Hype Street Art, renowned for their eye-catching murals in and around Gloucester, joined the BPE stand to demonstrate their colourful works.
Claire Hattrick, BPE Marketing Manager, said: “We are delighted to have been involved with the ACP Festival once again this year, and it was a pleasure to be joined by Hype Street Art, who produced some great designs! We had a fantastic day with brilliant weather for it!”
BPE Solicitors’ support of ACP goes beyond the festival itself and encompasses their work to promote Painswick and the wider Gloucestershire area as a centre for art, design and fashion. By supporting ACP in its creation of work placements for young artists and designers, BPE is helping those young people who otherwise may not have the opportunity to reach their full potential. ACP works with young people from across the Cotswolds to encourage involvement in creative arts with the aim of opening up future career pathways. By supporting ACP, aspiring artists, engineers and designers are given a platform to showcase their skills and talent in front of influential judges who open doors, companies who provide work placements that have led to wonderful opportunities and case prizes and bursaries that enable further education.
“We sponsored the festival in 2014 and it is brilliant to see that two years on, there is still a great deal of support and encouragement for people of all ages who want to be involved with art and design in the Cotswolds,” Claire continued.
The legal firm was joined by Steppes Travel, Graduate Gardeners, Renishaw and The Dyson Foundation, among others, in sponsoring the event, which encouraged young people to consider a future in the arts.
