ACP Festival announces BPE Solicitors as headline sponsors
Organisers of Painswick’s renowned wearable art festival, ACP has announced that Cheltenham based BPE Solicitors will be the event’s headline sponsors.
Part of the sponsorship deal includes support with PR and Marketing from the law firm’s Business Development team, so BPE will be working closely with the ACP over the next few months to help promote the event throughout the region as well as nationwide.
The Festival takes place on 13th July in the iconic Painswick churchyard surrounded by its legendary 99 yew trees. Judges from TV and the worlds of fashion and art will judge a wide range of design talent across a number of categories including independent designer, adult, college student, under 12’s creative headwear and body art.
The Festival will be compered by TV celebrities Dr Dawn Harper from Channel 4’s Embarrassing Bodies, Lisa Maxwell from Loose Women and TV Celebrity and musician Keith Allen. The comperes join ACP’s panel of celebrity judges which include: contemporary artist, Daniel Chadwick , Denise Innes from the British School of Millinery, abstract artist Rachel Howard, designer Adnan Bayyat, professional artist, Swarez, Isabella Blow’s neice, Harriet Verney who contributes to US Vogue and Vogue.com , artist and interior designer Julia Beardsley and Superdry photographer Jimeee Meigh.
ACP is an artistic venture that encourages creative people of all ages, and from all walks of life, to participate in making works of art that are displayed on the body.
“BPE is a law firm which believes in the spirit of the entrepreneur,” explained BPE’s Business Development Director, Claire Harrison. “Most of our clients are people and businesses who have achieved extraordinary, brilliant things, so becoming involved with such a creative entrepreneurial Festival as ACP seemed exactly the right fit.”
This year’s event celebrates the centenary of the 1st World War, with categories Independent Designer, College Student, 18 and over and under 12’s choosing from the themes; ‘ Reflections’, ‘Invasions’ and ‘Legends’ whilst entrants to the creative headwear categories will be basing their designs on the theme of Elements. Body Art designers have been given ‘Heros and Heroines’.
ACP is a registered charity, and is run by an enthusiastic group of local helpers. The charity works with schools, colleges, local businesses and arts enterprises to encourage creativity and a love of the arts.
As well as cash prizes, the Festival competition offers work placements as prizes to college students.
