On a typical transaction for someone new to construction procurement, we will discuss your attitude to risk and your key drivers and goals for the project at the outset, so that we can provide strategic advice on how best to structure the legal basis for the project.
We also work with more experienced developers who are able to provide detailed instructions from the beginning.
In short, we tailor our services to suit you and your project. In particular we can:
- Advise on the different forms of construction contract that may be suitable for your project (including JCT, NEC3, NEC4 and bespoke documents)
- Draft building contracts, professional appointments and negotiate the same on your behalf
- Draft and negotiate collateral warranties and letters of reliance where required
- Liaise with any funder to ensure that the suite of construction documents meets their funding requirements
- Engross documents and ensure they are executed properly to protect your legal rights
- Prepare Board Reports in respect of the above
